Terms of Use
Last updated: July 8, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TuitionCreep (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What TuitionCreep is
TuitionCreep is an informational tool that estimates the multi-year cost of attending US colleges by projecting published tuition and required fees from federal IPEDS data. All figures are estimates and projections, not quotes, offers, or guarantees of any actual cost.
2. Not financial, legal, or professional advice
The Service is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, legal, tax, or other professional advice. Projections rely on historical data and assumptions that may not reflect a school's future pricing, your individual circumstances, or your actual financial aid. You are solely responsible for decisions you make, and you should consult qualified professionals and each school's financial aid office before making enrollment or financial decisions.
3. No guarantee of accuracy
We strive for accuracy and cite our data sources, but we do not warrant that any figure, projection, or other content is accurate, complete, current, or reliable. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors, and school pricing and policies change.
4. Permitted use
You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes and for legitimate educational, journalistic, or advising purposes with attribution. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by scraping at scale, interfering with its operation, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or using it to violate any law.
5. Intellectual property
The Service's design, text, and software are owned by TuitionCreep and protected by applicable laws. Underlying tuition data originates from public federal sources (IPEDS) and is not owned by us. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service under these Terms.
6. Third-party links and data
The Service references third-party data (including the US Department of Education's IPEDS collection via the Urban Institute Education Data API) and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third parties.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TUITIONCREEP AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE ON, THE SERVICE OR ITS ESTIMATES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TuitionCreep and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes take effect when we post the updated Terms with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
